Working with Diigo has been such a positive experience. My favorite function is the “read and annotate” function. When I find a website that has relevant information to whatever I’m studying, I can highlight it and make comments about it. Also, I love sharing my annotations with the class by posting the notes to the EME 2020 class group. I could use Diigo in my classroom, as it can encourage my students to work together on group projects by sharing each group member’s annotations to a group. I can do the same with team members and fellow classmates; Diigo allows you to share your findings with your team members easily. For myself, I can keep my annotations private to keep my own research findings and annotations my own.
Bloom’s taxonomy is a pyramid of skills that can help you get an educational task done efficiently and thoroughly. There are 6 steps to the pyramid: create, evaluate, analyze, apply, understand, remember. You could use PowerPoint to breakdown these steps. If you are using Bloom's taxonomy to explain photosynthesis, you would start with remember. This step is where you can define and recognize the term. Then, once you know the concept well enough to describe the process, which is the understanding step. After this, you can now apply the concept you just learned to your science lesson. Then, you can analyze how photosynthesis affects the environment, as it provides oxygen. Then, you can evaluate how well photosynthesis provides oxygen. Finally, at the end of the lesson, you should be able to create and recreate the process of photosynthesis on your own.
Professional development is crucial for teachers. Even though teachers are the ones teaching the students, teachers should also be learning new lessons to improve their own professional development. Education continues to change with the introduction of new technology. As a teacher, it’s important to be able to grow and adapt to these changes and learn new technologies. When a teacher can efficiently use a new tool or technology, they can implement this efficiency in their classroom. Here is a link to new tools and technologies that will help make you aware of these changes:
